First Communion Cake

Well, this was my first, first communion cake. Admittedly I had to google what a first communion cake should look like while I was on the phone.

My client already had bought this little statue, which I thought was a perfect little topper. We were torn between deciding if we should do an all white cake, which I think is the norm for a first communion cake. But in the end we decided to add some pink, so it wouldn't look to much like a wedding cake.

I wasn't thinking, and told my client I would write "Casandra's first communion" on the cake, and then when I went to do it, I realized I was crazy, and could never fit it on the cake. So I put it on the cake board instead. I think she was ok with it.

It was fun to do something I never had done before, plus I always love doing things like this that are simple and girlie. I hope she had a wonderful first communion, and celebration to go with it. I'm glad I got to help her celebrate her very important special day.

That is cool that you got to do such a different cake. It turned out nice.
