Well it's springtime! So when I got a call to make a cake for someone, and was told I could do anything I wanted, my first thought was that I wanted to do something with springtime flowers. So, wa la!
I made 90 flowers altogether, 60 big ones, and 30 tiny ones. I'm writing this down slightly for my own records, so I can know what I want to do if I make this cake ever again.
The stems ended up a bit wonky, but stems aren't exactly perfectly straight, hopefully that didn't bug anyone. I thought it turned out cute anyway. Fun and springy.
On another note, I have, in my opinion perfected my white cake recipe. And a friend of mine recently tasted what she thought was the best frosting ever. So with the help of her family, they decided to do whatever it took to replicate it. She made batches and batches, and finally came up with something so so yummy, and was nice enough to share it with me. So the moral to that story is that even though this cake looks cute, it tasted even better. (Well technically I didn't get to eat it, but I tasted the extra cake, and frosting separately, and they were the bomb,)
Happy Springtime!
